Makers & Thinkers Residency Programme
Two week stays for those working in any way that is mindful of the natural world.
Our self-directed makers and thinkers residencies are suitable for anyone seeking the time and space to work independently, on their own projects, sheltered from the distractions and demands of contemporary society.
What we offer is somewhere between a traditional residency and a holiday.
Some use the time to create a new body of work or undertake new research or chose to work on something neglected or not yet formed.
Others wish just to recuperate and reflect in peaceful and traditional surroundings, whilst having free use of the studio.
Residents stay in one of two beautiful self-catered apartments in our seventeenth-century townhouse and work in the adjoining atelier - a former forge steeped in history. (Please look at La Casa section for further details about our space and site.)
Our Makers and Thinkers residencies are for a period of two weeks.
Former residents have included a variety of textile artists, florists, witches, writers, musicians, herbalists and painters anyone working with a practice that is mindful of the natural world is welcome.
NB. For painters, we will ask that you do not work with toxic or strong smelling paints such as oils, throughout your stay.
The full cost of a two week stay is 1295 euro. and 795 for a one week stay (when they are available.)
Full cost of the two week stay is 1295 euro which includes:
- Accommodation in one of our large self-catered studio apartments with an ensuite bathroom and use of the studio equipment.
-Sole 24 hour use of the studio (unless you have requested or been informed before booking that there will be another artist there.)
Food/ Meals are not included, but there are numerous local restaurants, shops and markets and you have use of your own beautiful kitchen included.
Additional costs.
Accompanying guests are permitted for a cots of €295 p/w (sharing the same bedroom in either two singles or one double bed)
